Back to school and bricks and mortar!

Keeping your Child’s Teeth Healthy

March got off to a great start when our dentist Vidoushi, along with Hannah & Carol took some time out from the surgery and went along to St Peter’s School to promote healthy teeth and gums. The children enjoyed wearing face masks and gloves, singing songs and playing games while learning all about healthy food choices and the importance of brushing teeth. We ran a competition to design a poster ‘It’s Brushtime’ and have collected all the entries. It’s going to be tough choices for the judges, so many great pictures.

Will a Sugar Tax actually work?

Will sugar tax make a difference? Who knows? Maybe. But at Rossett Dental Care we know that preventing tooth decay in kids requires education and effort from all of us, health professionals, parents and teachers. Small changes can make a bit difference: swap sugary drinks for water or milk, if you must eat sweets keep them for just after meals not all day long, chewing gum helps produce saliva which washes away bacteria and regular supervised brushing goes a long way to protecting teeth and gums.
